WHO WE ARE!

West Ruwenzori Diocese is the 38th Diocese in Anglican Province of the Church of Uganda; The Diocese was curved from the Diocese of Ruwenzori. The first bishop the Diocese is the Right Reverend Tibaijuka Barnabas. Barabbas was elected Bishop on 3rd April 2023 and later enthroned and consecrated Bishop on 27th August 2023 at St. Barnabas Cathedral in Bundibugyo District, the day the diocese was inaugurated. The diocese is comprised of six (06) Archdeaconries, 25 Parishes and 171 churches.

WHERE WE ARE!

As the name suggests, West Ruwenzori Diocese is found in the far western part of Uganda. It covers the same area as Bundibugyo district in the slops of the re-known Rwenzori Mountain, neighbouring the Democratic Republic of the Congo, 87 kilometres from Fort Portal tourism city. To the south is Mount Rwenzori; to the west is the border of the Republic of Congo; in the north is Semuliki National Park; and in the east is Fort Portal City.
